FIRST MARATHON

I’m not a natural-born runner, but I enjoy running occasionally to get a good cardio workout. It also helps me clear my mind and focus my thoughts.

Seven weeks beforehand, two friends and I decided to sign up for the Maasdijk Marathon.¬†We trained intensely, covering many kilometers in preparation for the race. With only 150 +/- attendees, miles of taking in the Osse polder landscape starting at 18:00. I started too fast and we separated at the halfway point. The last 10 kilometers were really tough, but I pushed through and finished the marathon in 4:24:55. Once more into the fray…
